Skateboarding Trick Tips to Make You a Skate Park Star by Mark A. Kaye

Learning skateboarding tricks is just like learning any other skill. You have to set a solid foundation. If you learn something "half-way" take a "short-cut," or worst of all, learn something "the wrong way," then it will take you ten times as long to repair the damage and master the trick. That is the danger with skateboarding trick tips. Many beginners get misinformation from the get-go and it costs them valuable time in the end.

Here are some things you should NEVER do:

1) Never get skateboarding trick tips from your friends. Unless they are qualified pros with years of instruction under their belts they will probably teach you the wrong way. In any aspect of life you should always seek out a mentor who is older, more skilled, and a proven teacher who can start you off with a good foundation.

2) Never get skateboarding trick tips from other skaters at the skate park. Same rules apply as above. You don't know where these guys are learning tricks from. Also, they may not have your best interests at heart.

3) Never get skateboarding trick tips from the Internet. The same unqualified people at the skate park are the ones putting this information on the Internet.

Here are some things you should ALWAYS do:

1) Set a good foundation. Get skateboarding trick tips from a reputable teacher or source. If you get information off the Internet make sure it is from a quality instructor that has testimonials and references. If you get bad skateboarding trick tips to begin with you will have to "unlearn" horrible habits which is much tougher than learning them correctly the first time.

2) Practice. You've heard that practice makes perfect. Well that's probably the truest statement you will ever hear. You will never excel at something the first time you do it. Excellence takes time, and effort. Get good skateboarding trick tips and then practice them over and over and over. Then, practice them some more.

3) Become obsessed. You know how Tony Hawk and Kevin Staab became great skaters? They became obsessed with skateboarding. In fact, anyone who excels at anything does so because of an obsession. Skateboarding trick tips are just part of it. Get good solid skateboarding trick tips. Practice incessantly, and be obsessed.

These three simple steps work well for any aspect of life, not just skateboarding. Once you set a good solid foundation all you need to do is practice obsessively. If you do, it will be impossible to fail!

Everthing You Ever Wanted to Know about Skateboarding by Marcus Peterson

Skateboarding has its own culture. Skateboarders, in general, have their own style. Their clothing is individualized. They may sport tattoos and piercings. They practice their craft on their favorite skateboards in shopping malls, on stairs, in their driveways. Some places have skateboarding parks where people who are passionate can practice tricks and socialize with their friends. Many are intrigued by the culture and want to join in but don't know how.

Well, if you want to get into skateboarding, the first thing to do is buy a skateboard. Pick a board that fits your own personal style, because that is a large part of what skateboarding is all about. You'll want to find a skateboard that you'll feel proud to own because it represents you as an individual. You should also pick up some safety gear; you'll probably fall a lot at first.

There is no dress code for skateboarding. Just wear something comfortable. If you want to get into skateboarding, don't feel as if you need to dress like a typical skater if that isn't your style. The point is to find a unique way to express yourself, not to fit into a group. People will respect you more for your individuality.

Next, you'll want to take your first ride. Get someone who's been skateboarding for a while to help you. It can take a while to learn how to balance on the skateboard and maintain that balance as you are riding. Once you master that, you can start to learn some tricks. You can either learn by trial and error or get someone to show you how. After that, you're on your way to being a pro!

Tony Hawk Vert Skateboarding Superstar by Louis Baur

When Tony Hawk first started out in skateboarding there were only 2 different styles of skateboarding. One was vert skateboarding which consisted of skating in pools and ramps and the other was freestyle which was flatland skateboarding. Freestyle Skateboarding is responsible for the modern day street skateboarding you see in all the youtube videos where you have people hurling themselves down stairs and ledges.

The future of vert skateboarding for Tony Hawk is very optimistic. Tony doesn't blame anyone for not picking up vertical skateboarding. It takes a very long time just to learn how to drop in and once you have that part wired you have to figure out how to keep your speed to get to the top of the other side of the ramp. This particular practice is known as pumping the ramp. Once you get that part down it takes years to learn how to do even the basic of tricks such as a backside or front side air. Vert Skateboarding is a well respected sport and the limits are being pushed continuously.

There are newcomers to the spectrum, not very many, but there are new up and comers out there. Additionally there is a new breed of skate park skateboarder that knows how to get up on the vert walls and is able to skate the normal street skating stuff as well as carving corners and transfers and that is great! It keeps them well rounded and a well rounded skateboarder is the best type to be.

Skateboarding Tricks by Marcus Peterson

Skateboarding is more than just the outfits; it's more than just using your board to get around the town. Skateboarding is about the stunts. There are so many skateboarding tricks, and some are easier to master, some are harder. How do you take your skateboarding to the next level and start performing some skateboarding tricks? Here is some advice.

First, you need to purchase the right gear. Experts advise against purchasing a board from the department store because you can find good deals at skateboarding shops. And, this may not be fashionable, but you may want to purchase safety gear. If you are a beginner, you will probably fall a lot, especially once you begin to do your first skateboarding tricks.

Once you find your skateboard, your shoes, and some safety equipment, its time to start learning how to balance and move on the board. It will seem easy to balance while the board isn't moving, but once you move, it can be a challenge to sustain your balance. Moving fast may also take some getting used to.

When you master that, you can start visiting the parks to start learning some skateboarding tricks. The first tricks you may want to learn are "grinds," "board glides," and "gaps." If you need some help learning the skateboarding tricks, you can ask a knowledgeable friend or maybe find someone to give you lessons. There are also a lot of resources online.

To learn skateboarding tricks, you first need to find the proper equipment. You'll need skateboarding shoes, a board, and safety gear. Next, you'll want to learn the basics. Once you master the basics, you can start to learn more complicated skateboarding tricks.

Tony Hawk Adventure

My son and I went to see Tony Hawk yesterday. He loved it! What an experience! It was well over a hundred degrees with most of the heat permeating onto us poor spectators. Facing the sun, our faces and bodies drenched with sweat, we watched squinty eyed as Tony Hawk and his troop performed their dazzling tricks. I especially liked the crazy motorcyclists flying behind the ramp. The drivers "running" next to their airborne bikes or lying horizontally with one hand on the seat of the bike for ...guidance? It was one of those moments where you didn't want to watch, but, out of morbid curiousity you tentively do, hoping they made it to safety on the other side. The flips and 360's performed by the skaters were fun to watch. I did find myself wondering why I had spent so much money to watch grown men on skates. However, after seeing the unabashed look of awe on my son's face, the money spent seemed to dwindle in comparison. Later that night my son asked me, "Did I really see Tony Hawk in person?" Money well spent.
